A few weeks ago I heard my dad singing again. Though I didn't know any of the songs [they were all from "back in the day" :)] it was such a blessing to listen to this CD he had recently put together and to know he is filling his life with song. Music is a powerful force. It is a gift from God and one of the few things we enjoy on earth that will also be present in eternity with Jesus.
Revelation 5:12, 13 records the following:
In a loud voice they sang:
"Worthy is the Lamb, who was slain,
to receive power and wealth and wisdom and strength
and honor and glory and praise!".
Then I heard every creature in heaven and on earth and under the earth and on the sea, and all that is in them, singing:
"To him who sits on the throne and to the Lamb
be praise and honor and glory and power,
for ever and ever!"
These verses make it very clear that everyone will be singing in that day, so why not get a head start?
What is keeping your heart, life, and voice from singing praise to God today?
Psalm 13:6 says, "I will sing to the LORD, for he has been good to me." We all have something to sing about!
You don't have to record yourself on a CD like my dad (he actually sings in front of audiences!). In fact, you don't even have to tell anyone. But allow yourself a song today, and enjoy the blessings God brings with it!
Let's pray. Father, You have been so good to us. I pray each one sharing this email will experience the joy of singing for You and to You even this very day! In Jesus' Precious Name we pray. Amen.
