Good morning, Lord Jesus.

Nations and economies and political leaders may rise and fall, but You are on Your throne.  Be enthroned in my life and our land today.

We have newly elected leaders, Lord. And as one nation, under God, may we be united as one in prayer for Your hand to anoint them, Your Holy Spirit to fill them, Your Word to guide them, and Your ways to lead them.

Form Your thoughts in their minds and Your desires in their hearts.

Draw them daily in humility to their knees in prayer and grow them to maturity in faith in Christ (Ephesians 4:13).

We pray they would all fear You above all else and that You would truly be the source of their wisdom (Proverbs 9:10).

Protect them from the influences of power and deception as You pour into them Your wisdom and revelation, that they may grow, as every Christian must, in their personal relationship and desperate dependence upon You alone as their Source of inspiration, guidance, and strength (Eph. 1:17-19).

Please deliver us, O Lord, from every ungodly leader, influence, and threat to this great nation of Yours.

We pray in the mighty and most powerful Name of Jesus.  Amen.
